This is an example of an "Armenian Wedding Procession," where the Armenian musicians go to the prospective bride and groom's homes and escort them through the streets to the Armenian Church, where they are to be married. After the wedding ceremony, they again are escort to the home of their proposed wedding reception!
This sold-out concert was filmed at California State University, Fresno, while the live Armenian concert performance was filmed by P.B.S, Channel 18 TV and later broadcasted to over 2 million + TV viewers several times.
This is a typical musical procession that has been a custom of the Armenian people for over 2000 years. The traditional Armenian musicians go to the prospective bride's and groom's homes and play the Zurna (Double reed flute)
and Dhol (Cylinderical hand Drum) and march through the streets to bring them to their Armenian Church Wedding.
