That's a good idea and it will also encourage my family with healthier eating if I take the initiative to just make the salads. :)

I saw on the biggest loser that before you start eating meal try to start with salad..that way once your done with a salad you will be already be half full..so maybe when you see your family ,start each meal with a salad that way you wont eat alot of your mom's food.

Jackie Warner is freakin awesome! I love the show she is on, but it hasn't been on in a while, I hope theres a new season soon! Gratz on the loss, it still is a loss and no need to be down about it! Family is definitely hard to be around when trying to do well, I suggest either bringing your own food like you said or just bringing a plate that is small, and then filling that up with a really small portion of one of each of the foods there, that way you won't go overboard but you get everything!

Isnt breakfast supposed to be the biggest meal of the day and then dinner is meant to be the smallest?

Yes, it's important to have a good breakfast, I just can't eat eat a big breakfast. I usually am not hungry until about 11am or so. So, I tend to eat something small. I just hate going to bed feeling hungry so I like to have about 600-700 calories for dinner and an evening snack.
