  • Such beauty of voice and interpretation! I was not aware that she recorded this aria and am so glad that I stumbled across this posting. Her voice is so full of pathos and the lyrics so clear. Heavenly!!!

  • @Operamagnifico She sang Amina in her early career, but it's a pity she only recorded this aria in 1945. When she was younger, and her voice more agile, she must've been a marvelous Amina. She also sang Zerbinetta, Lucia di Lammermoor and Sophie, but unfortunately no recording is left of those interpretations.

  • Gorgeous with just the right amount

of pathos. Thank you for posting

    this treasure.

  • Her voice can only be described as sublime perfection. What ezquisite nuances in her singing. Ponselle always said that Sayao was the greatest of the yric Sopranos. She said that Sayao was the Caruso of the lyrics. There is no singer today who comes anywhere close to Sayao. She is a voice of the ages

  • Perfection.

  • What can I say? Gorgeous, gorgeous singing! Meltingly beautiful. Thank you, thank you!

  • What a glorious, glorious piece of singing - the best of this aria I've heard. I was in Bellini's hometown of Catania recently, and over his tomb, in the Cathedral, are engraved the first words, and the first bars, of this aria - so sadly apposite given Bellini's early death: "Ah, non credea mirarti, si presto estinto il fiore" (Alas, I thought not to see you, your flower so soon extinguished)

  • divine!

  • Una voce senza tempo...

  • Plutôt bien fait!

  • Best rendition ever

  • Thank you for posting this video. It's the best. It's the best interpretation I've heard. It's pure Bel Canto!!!. I've always loved B.Sayão's voice. Alguso
