I came to this from the Smash. I was familiar with Beyonce's version when it premiered. I am not a Beyonce fan. I am not a Reba McIntire fan. That said,I will keep both versions on my hard drive,but Ms McInire made me say wow. I got chills With all due respect to Reba. this was straight up Rayna James from "Nashville" which I love,.I will be looking at Ms Reba. BTW .Not a big fan of "Malibu County". The writing needs work.

I like both versions. Beyonce also covered this song. So Reba didn't steal this song from Beyonce.. lol I have loved Reba's music since the mid 90's the emotion she puts into her music is magical. But if this is your first time ever hearing Reba sing. I guess you wouldn't just understand her amazing singing. If Reba covers a song it's because she truly feels the song in her heart & soul. She isn't one to just sing a song to sing it.
