My project is about Israeli wildflowers.
regrowing wild plants, that grow in winter and withered dry up and die in the summer .
Their short life cycle always fascinated me. People tend to take wild flowers for granted -just weeds.
The aesthetics of these weeds is the heart of my project.
I wanted to elevate them and perpetuate the existence of their short transient.
The project was printed with spacial textile dye - thermochromic ink -to create a heat sensitive fabric, that respond to heat and light.
My project is about creating fabrics that respond to the environment -- and are dynamic like nature.
my design proses started with the plants themselves - a combination of scanning and printing.
I found myself drawing the wildflowes in order to preserve their memory by hand, with reference to a traditional textile pattern.
fabric that responds to light
The image is exposed with the light on, and slowly disappears when the
lights turns off.
