  • Where's the US National Anthem in this video?

  • 0:22-0:34 Eliseo Salazar Valenzuela.

  • @JoeytheHDK Mrs. Hulman was 91 at the time; during the command it was evident that she was losing her battle against emphysema.

Emphysema is evidenced by shortness of breath (among other signs), therefore the blood supply to the brain is not sufficiently oxygenated. That's why Mary looked somewhat dazed. Very sad.

  • "Lady, and Gentlemen... START YOUR ENGINES!!!"

Greatest words of the year to hear on Memorial Day weekend. :) CANNOT WAIT FOR THE 94th EDITION THIS YEAR!!!

  • Yes, it was the last time that Mary Frendich Hulman gave the command.

  • It might have been. I don't know. Personally, I thought it was painful to watch (the command).

  • Some may laugh, but I thought the command to start the engines was beautiful.

  • USAC at its finest, asking the teams to kill the engines after they've fired them...

  • Was this the last year Fendrich-Hulman gave the starting command?
