Joe: No, get out of here
Amy: Ouch, that hurt
Joe: It was supposed to
Amy: Rude
Joe: Ya, you are
Jen: Joe dont be so mean
Amy: Ya Joe, dont be so mean
Joe: Will you shut up! And Jen, dont hang around her or her best friend Brittany, they're nothing but trouble
Amy: Hey who said we were trouble?
Joe: Nick and Kevin thats who
Amy: What!
Joe: Ya, word got around that apparently Brittany is wanting to get back at me for dumping her. And that means trouble. And dont think I dont see her around that corner right there.
Amy: (under her breath) crap. Brittany come on out, he knows you're there
Brittany: Great (going up to them as well) Hey Jen, Joe
Joe: What do you want?
Brittany: Nothing, just walking around waiting for the bell
Joe: Sure you are you little liar
Principal: Joe, can I talk to you for a minute please
Joe: Sure (to Brittany) Leave her alone
Brittany: Sure, ok (in her head) Nope

As soon as Joe was out of ear shot, Brittany hammerd in on Jen

Brittany: Ok listen new girl. Joe is mine ok. He's in love with me he's just in denial right now. He's doesnt like you at all, he's only pretending, he does this all the time. We break up every 2 weeks and he hangs around a girl to make me mad. Face it, you're nothing to him. And to be honest, you're not very pretty hun. You dont have the pretty face that he's looking for. Your style, oh boy, can we say trying too hard? And how old are you? 10? Cuz you look like a kid. So stay away from my boyfriend got it. Nice talking to you. New girl

Before she walked away, Brittany shoved Jen making her fall and drop everything in her hands, which made everybody laugh of course.

Brittany: Oops, sorry (walking away)

Joe had turned around just in time to see Jen get pushed down. He ran up to her and helped her up. Giving everybody standing around a glare that told them to shut up.

Joe: Are you ok?
Jen: (tears in her eyes from embarrasment and from getting her feelings hurt)
Joe: Jen?

She couldnt handle everybody laughing at her, especially since it was only her first day here, and now she would be known as the girl who fell on day one. Jen ran off down the hall, tears pouring down her cheeks as she recalled what all Brittany had told her.

Joe: (running after her) Jen wait!

She ran until she was outside on the bleachers of the football feild. She went down to the farthest seat, threw down her stuff, slumped down in the seat, put her head in her hands and cried. She hadnt been out there long when she heard Joe calling her name and running up to her. She jumped up and ran into his arms and started crying again.

Joe: What happend?
Jen: Brittany happend
Joe: Ugh gosh I cant stand her anymore. What did she do?
Jen: She told me that you didnt care anything about me, that you and her were still together and that you break up every two weeks and then get back together. And that you always hang around other girls to make her jealous
Joe: Well thats a lie, as usual with her.
Jen: But what hurt the most was when she told me that I wasnt very pretty, that I didnt have the prettiest face in the world. Which I know I dont, but to hear it put like that....
Joe: (giving her a really tight hug) Dont listen to a word she says. Everything she said was a lie. And I do mean everything
Jen: Even the part about me?
Joe: (wiping her tears away) Yes, even that. She's jealous of you is why she said those things. She envies you so much.
Jen: I guess
Joe: Hey, look at me (lifting her chin so that his eyes met hers) You are very, very beautiful ok? You're more beautiful than she'll ever be. She'll never have this long pretty blonde hair, or the same perfect smile. And she most definatley wont have those gorgeous eyes of yours. No one will. You're special Jen.
Jen: You think so?
Joe: I know so
Jen: (smiling and hugging him) Thank you Joe, you have no idea how much that means to me
Joe: (nuzzling his face into her hair) You're welcome Jen
Teacher: Hey you two! Get back inside you'll be late for class! I dont want to have to hand out detentions on the first day
Joe: Yes sir, c'mon Jen. Its ok, Im here for you, I wont let them hurt you. I promise
Jen; (smiling up at him) Thanks

He slid his arm around her shoulder as they walked back inside to their next class
