We knew it wouldn't be long. Just months after its debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, the 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe is already well on its way to production. Caught while testing at GM's Milford proving grounds, this prototype of the Cadillac CTS coupe (or CTC, as it might be called) wore only light camouflage, a good indication that it won't change much compared to the concept.

This doesn't come as a surprise, as Cadillac officials hinted as much when the car debuted as a concept. Nothing new is expected from the A-pillars forward because the coupe will get the same grille treatment and front clip as the CTS sedan. Although the concept had a pair of vertically stacked headlights with neon marker bulbs, the production version is expected to get more traditional xenon-gas items. If Cadillac really steps it up, maybe the CTC will be the first production car with full LEDs like the Escalade Platinum.

Given the black camouflage over the rear end, there might be a few changes in store for the hindquarters of the CTS coupe. Hopefully the massive quarter panels will get slimmed down a little as they make this midsize coupe look clumsy from behind. The hatchbacklike profile isn't doing the CTS coupe any favors either, so maybe that will change, too. One thing that won't change is the location of the exhaust, as all these prototypes have the same center-mounted pipes as the concept.

Don't expect many changes under the hood either. The 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe will get the same lineup of engines as the sedan, so expect to see a choice of two V6s with both automatic and manual transmissions. All-wheel drive will most likely remain a sedan-only option, but the chances of a V-Series model are pretty good.

Production of the 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe will start in the spring of 2009, so you'll be able to buy this new Cadillac coupe starting early next summer.

  • I think it cand looks ugly

  • My mistake correct the CTS-V

  • you mean the coupe CTS-V will have a supercharger?

  • Cadillac is a Cadillac...lets just say i've been around that car for a while now and driven it a few time hear at GM. One thing is for sure this car will be the most BANG FOR YOUR BUCK car when it comes to Sport cars. As you know our V-6 already produce a massive amout of power compare to most other V-6's out there. The Coups-S will have a supercharger added on and will be giving another 120 extra HP. Also next fall the Hard Top Convertable will be coming out with some more tweakes.

  • most japanese cars are built in america...most american cars are built in mexico...tell me which one do u consider "forgen"???

  • ha dumbass, what about german??? arnt those "forgen"

  • oh gosh you are very full of yourself my friend. Your penis must be 10 inches long, and you must drive a top end benz S600 or something, and your house must be bigger than my entire neighborhood.

If you decide to argue, at least have something to back yourself up. And it's pretty silly that you post up your credentials on your youtube channel. Very full of yourself.

  • Apparently there isn't much more to say about American cars as we all know they'll all be going out of business soon

thanks for pointing out that I have a Harvard Law Degree though, thank you
