An attempt at John Paul Jones master bassline in Communication Breakdown of the First Album. Yes, this is an Ibanez exotic woods bass, and No, these strings did not come with the bass. These strings are fender nylon tapewound. I didn't like the ones that came with the bass.

  • I'm on a constant fight to find the "perfect" acoustic bass to buy. Is this bass good and loud when unplugged with another guitar? Great cover

  • No, its only audible to practice without an amp in a quiet room. I am amplified in this clip. I've already looke for such a bass and one doesn't exist unless your willing to buy something almoast as big as a stand up bass. Sorry it sucks right.

  • Love your bass, and the strings sound excellent! I'm buying an acoustic as soon as i get the money. Love it!

  • Yea, I realy like the preamp myself.

  • Are those strings like solid strips of nylon or are they steel with a nylon coating?

  • Steel core with a sort of nylon tape wound around the steel I think.

  • aawesome stirngs

  • when i got my electric bass i damaged my frets using the strings that come with it .

  • @mauileqwerty I used to play unplugged with another acoustic guitar with my bass, it sounds quiet good as long as the other player doesn't get crazy on the strumming! BTW, I used D'Addario Phosphors Bronze String, they're bright and really make a difference on the volume of the bass (unplugged of course)

    Hope this helps,

    Cheers

  • Wow your bass sounds very organic and uprightish with those tapewound strings. I think I need to try them out on my Cort acoustic bass.

  • @bradless04 what a dumbass

  • Thanks !!!!!!!!!

  • @mauileqwerty

i was just telling you about the fact that you can play along with another guitar

  • @mauileqwerty

actually if you use a pic you can play along with an acoustic guitar, but not when using just fingers. I know that most of the time "real" bassplayers only use their fingers, but their are real bassplayers that use pics, so dont call me a dumbass

  • I use these strings on my Hofner 500/1 bass - they sound great and last forever.
