Clip 16 of 18

The movie (after the 1972 novel by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre) is set around the dramatic creation of the State of Israel in 1949. In New York, Jewish Bobby Goldman (JJ Feild) meets Arab Saïd (Saïd Taghmaoui). They become close friends and have a good time together. When they both travel to Jerusalem to wait for the decision of the UN concerning the UN Partition Plan the conflict between Arabs and Jews leads into terrorism. When the fight for the control of Jerusalem becomes worse, Bobby and Saïd find themselves on different sides...

  • @Songsmirth You are such a perceptive person.

  • A moral man. She's been used by the Natzies and the Russians and would be considered unclean but he loves her for her strength and what's she had to do to survive. He's gentle when he kisses her because she's use to force and she's overwhelmed that such a decent man sees her for what she is. He knows his friend and risks his life to speak to him for peace. His friend is buried in politics but he can't let Bobby be murdered. Excellent acting. Was this really based on a true person?
