What do you mean by cool conditions and i have to admit the M Mesomelas is a very gorgeous tarantula

Between 65F and 75F is considered cool

Ya, they can be a bit skittish (which is why they dont make good handlers) and can be a bit defensive but not too bad. But it does depends on the personality. Remember that Mature male I had a long time ago? He was very skittish lol and hit like a ton of bricks when crickets where near him, that big female is the exact opposite :)
