One of the reason's it is believed that Dicken's went to great lengths to be so descriptive in this story was because he in fact was being paid by the word. Therefore, more words, more money, kinda ironic I think.
after ms. dipler goes away... Scrooge goes back to his room mumbling then walks to the window,, this scene is deleted, and they start with scrooge lookin out the window
This is my favorite part of the movie, his acting is amazing, and I love the maid as well. Her reaction is priceless. Ya I agree bbasher79 that the colorized version of it is not good, black and white is the best. I could watch this all year round.
this has always been my favorite christmas movie, despite its flaws. no one has ever done it better than alistair sim (tho many have tried) thanks for posting
I agree. Sim SMOKES in this role. It was meant for him. If you had to pick one guy for a Dickensian role of this magnitude, he was the prefect choice. AND he voiced the animated Chuck Jones version back in the early 70s which is short in length but haunting in it's presentation. See it on YouTube ASAP. It may be the last thing he ever did and what a way to go out.
