Joe Jackson recorded live at the Calvin Theater in Northampton, MA 4/5/08. Unfortunately, the quality is poor due to the audience "participation" and chatter during his performance. I recorded a bunch of songs that were marred by the jerks in the audience. Ill-behaved 50-something year olds....

  • JimJam, you were in the second row. With acoustics on your side you weren't going to hear the shouting of the frat boys. I was back near where the poster of the video (who also complains of the audience) was, and it was awful. We weren't the only ones complaining about it either.

  • Oh JimJam, you frat boy, you. ;)

  • I was at this amazing show, and don't know what citydog is talking about. I was in the second row, and Joe seemed quite surprised and pleased at the enthusiastic response he got from the crowd, in a city he has never played before. Sure, people shouted out requests, as people do at every show, but Joe gave them his trademark "we don't do requests" line and that was that. No "reliving frat days" scene. Just fans enjoying every song and letting him know how much he is appreciated.

  • The audience at that show *was* particularly dreadful (attempting to relive their frat days circa 1981), but I thought Joe was delightfully snarky with his "We don't play requests" comment which shut up most of the more enthusiastic bellowers.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Joe makes know I'm worse than I really think I am. I don't disappoint myself whilst he sings about me. What in genius lies?
