They're pretty fucking good; I can move a double batch at a party easily. I understand that corn oil is not the choice of fats to use... Lard is traditionally preferred, but lard is terrible for you, especially in the quantities of tamales that most people eat.
As for the salsa, a good canned variety is just as good in the finished product.
And to be fair, I have purchased tamales from Mexican shops in my town that had bone fragments in them.
corn oil, store bought salsa...these are not tamales. White men cant make tamales.
