This is my first step to make a woodgas generator for my lawn mower. The gascooler is a succes. It is made of of 8 pcs 28 mm tubes. The gas is going up in the first 4 tubes across the manifold in the top, and down in the last 4 tubes. It looks like smoke from the blowertube. But it is gas that are burning.

Cool. I got my truck running on WG too. I've found that processing the fuel first gets a MUCH cleaner gas than raw wood chips. It will also start way sooner, like a few minutes instead of 20min. cheers
nice start! I failed to power my lawn mower with wood gas: in the fact I ruined the motor as i had to disassemble it too often to clean it from tar. i could not get the right air to gas ratio t o make it run. Maybe it is easier to start with a larger engine so that the ratio is not too important. maybe my gas was still to wet and too much tar.
The easiest filtration system I have seen is to just pass the cooled gas through a barrel filled with hay or straw. As long as the gas doesn't burn the hay, it will be almost completely tar free.
Kewl My relitive pays 2,000 dollars a month in electric in the country. Been trying to find a cost effective way to generate electricity. Wind costs too much. They have car engines and lots of parts hanging around with pleanty of sticks, wood and grass.
