The title here is a little deceiving because there isn't any actuall weaving in this video, but, there's a tremendous amount of work that goes into preparing ikat silk before it is woven into fabric. Here a group of Tai Daeng (Red Tai) women work together involved in different facets of preparing the silk. The one woman on the right is tieing off the silk before dyeing. It's incredibly time consuming and depending on the complexity of the pattern can take days. The women on the left are taking off the wrap after dyeing. You can see the resulting pattern that is created by tieing off the silk. This video is a "slow" video that I'm posting to give you a feel for the time involved.
