**The next day at school**
Nick was still in the hospital, and he would be for about 3 more days. Until then, he would have to watch his school work pile up higher and higher. Joe had called Jen earlier that morning to ask her if she wanted a ride to school, but she never would pick up, nor return his calls. He thought something might have been wrong, granite she hadnt talked to him all weekend. The last time they talked was when he told her goodbye at her house after kissing her for the first time. Joe walked through the doors of the school, scanning the halls for his girlfriend. He didnt see her anywhere around, so he stopped and waited at the school entrance, hoping she'd walk by. After about ten minutes of looking for her, he caught a glimpse of her opening her locker at the end of the hall.
Joe: (smiling and walking up to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and hugging her tight) Hey baby
Jen: (not looking up at him while she put books in her locker, and speaking in a sad tone) Hey Joe
Joe: Whats wrong?
Jen: Nothing, its nothing (shutting her locker and starting to walk away)
Joe: (grabbing her arm and pulling her back to him) Woah wait, Jen what is it?
Jen: Everything Joe, just leave me alone
Joe: (pushing her up against her locker) No I wont, I wanna help you, now tell me whats wrong
Jen: (taking a deep breath as a few tears surfaced from her eyes) My dad has been missing for the past 3 days. He went to work on Friday morning and then he never came home. We tried calling him countless time but he wouldnt answer. Then Nick had his wreck that same day my dad went missing, and, you know how Nick's car hit someone else's car, and the person was unable to be identified?
Joe: Ya
Jen: (bursting into tears) Joe it was my dad! My dad is dead
Joe: (taking her in his arms and hugging her tight) Jen I.....I-Im so, so sorry
Jen: Its not your fault. Its not even Nicks. After Nick hit my dad's car, my dad stopped and just waited for everything to stop. But somebody didnt even bother to slow down, and they hit my dad on his side of the car.
Joe: (starting to tear up and hugging her tighter) N-not your dad, he was too cool I mean...
Jen: I know. And the pressure from losing him, and then seeing Nick in the hospital, its just too much
Joe: (gently taking her face in his hands and placing a soft kiss on her lips, in hopes that it might calm her down some)
Jen: (letting Joe kiss her as the tears fell down her cheeks)
Joe: (slowly sliding his arms around her and pushing her up agaisnt the lockers, getting more aggressive with his kiss)
Jen: (pulling away and resting her head on his shoulder and crying again)
Joe: (stoking her hair) Ssshh, its ok. He's not suffering anymore
Jen: I know. But what makes it worse, is that the person that killed him walked away without a scratch, and didnt even bother to help him
Joe: Do you know who it was?
Jen: No, all they told me was that it was a 17 year old girl that killed him
Just as Jen said that, Brittany walked by, bragging to her friends about her crazy weekend.
Brittany: I didnt have a single scratch or bruise on me anywhere AND i was in involved in the same accident as Nick Jonas! How sweet is that
Jen felt her face get red with anger. Brittany had killed her father! She broke loose from Joe and stormed up to her fathers murder. She got directly behind her and shoved Brittany as hard as she could.
Jen: Who do you think you are!!
Brittany: Who the h- Oh look, the boyfriend stealer. What makes you think you can shove me like that huh? (tauntingly pushing Jen)
Jen: (pushing Brittany into a row of lockers, making a football state championship trophy plumment down onto her head) YOU KILLED MY FATHER!!! DIDNT YOU!!!!
Brittany: (jumping up and pushing Jen back) SO!! WHO CARES!!! IT DOESNT EVEN BOTHER ME!!!
Jen: HE WAS MY WORLD!!!! AND YOU TOOK HIM AWAY FROM ME!!!!! (slamming her into the wall, face first)
Joe: (running up to Jen and holding her back)
Jen: Joe let me go
Joe: No you're going to get suspended if you fight her
Brittany: (turning around, showing that Jen had broken her nose when she shoved her into the wall, blood running down her face and dripping off her chin) What are you gonna do, sue me with daddy's money?
Jen: (trying to get out of Joe's arms, but he was too strong for her)
Principal: What is going on?
Jen: She killed my father....thats what (breaking loose from Joe and running outside)
Joe: (giving Brittany a disgusted look) What kind of a cruel heartless person are you (running after Jen)
