The Canadian at Sparrow Lake (22JUL2010)

What a beautiful morning!

The Canadian transcontinental passenger train by Via Rail rolling in from Vancouver. Locomotives 6453 and 6455 southbound at mile 95 on the Bala subdivision pulling 19 shiny passenger cars with dome observation cars.

Great video. What road is this? I was also wondering what time VIA #2 comes through Sparrow Lake. I will be there possibly at one of the crossings on the CN Bala Sub.on Thursday, August 5th. I heard it will be one of the longest trains of the season as it leaves Vancouver on the Sunday of the Civic Weekend. The Tuesday is supposted to have the same number of cars as Thursday.

@RailfanWaterloo It runs both northbound and southbound; southbound is early morning and northbound is late at night. You can look up the schedule on the VIA website viarail dot ca

However, its been late every time I have waited for it.

i've played shows at sparrow lake campground, just down the road from this crossing on the north side. It was always so neat when a train went by across the lake as youj'd hear the horn for this and the adjacent crossing and the rumble of the train from across the lake. sounded like it was right beside you
