from a ridge overlooking desolation peak jeremy wilson sings "over/under" as a tribute to jack kerouac who spent summer 1956 in desolation's fire lookout cabin as a firespotter/seeker/seer of all. filmed by nic with an oldskool vidcam in 1988. at the time jeremy was a member of 'the dharma bums', the great northwest band out of the great northwest. rebeat!

  • I had the CD this song was on. Somebody stole the CD along with the player I had it in. I gotta get the CD again sometime. I really like the song "Boots of Leather" too.

  • try googling 'mastan music', jeremy wilson's site. & on myspace, eric lovre. also on myspace, 'perhapst', john moen. jim talstra's all over myspace too. bet those guys could tell you how to get the CD.

  • I hiked up desolation last year. That's a damn good hike, i'll tell you that. I was pretty surprised by the switchbacks. Seeing the "void" was great, I yelled so loud up there, no one around. I loved it up there. take care.

  • your telling me! we hung around the little camp near the summit too long. the weather turned as we made the final bid for the lookout & we had to turn back. photographed a big ol' battlescarred buck (in rut) who wandered into camp & bugged us all nite along with 2 of his does as we lay on the ground w/o a tent, sleepingbags covered in snow. do not underestimate this climb.

  • great memories. Oh...to be young again and in the NW.

  • do tell.
