Here, I have used a laser to activate fluorescence in photoactivatable GFP. The laser was targetted just within the yellow circle and the GFP is within the endoplasmic reticulum of the cell. This movie demonstrates the dynamic nature of the endoplasmic reticulum - all of the spreading green endoplasmic reticulum surface must have been within hte yellow circle to activate. The timelapse here is about 11 minutes.
