I listened to the helicopter pilot on HF radio on 3026 Khz USB at night, working to Kinloss Rescue co-ordination centre. What radio frequency did the helicopter use on scene (VHF?), and what frequency did the winchman use to talk back to the pilot ? Cockermouth rescue HQ used CH 62A on marine VHF band

Thanks for info on winchman akablenk71. I use a Kenwood TH-F7e handheld transceiver with a 1/4wave whip aerial, My mate was in the Maryport lifeboat team in Cockermouth all that weekend. He called in the Helos' on coastguard CH0 (156.00Mhz). The army are building a bridge now, Royal corps of sigs will be there. Any idea what freq's they'll use (do they still use "Clansman " VHF sets?.
