It is interesting that the two Gheorghiu clips on youtube with the highest number of views - Vissi d'arte and Habanera - are pieces outside the range of a lyric soprano, yet Angela keeps getting classified as a lyric soprano. I'd say she proved herself to be lyric-dramatic or spinto, rather than simply lyric.
