You'll Never Guess Chapter Two

In the cab I watch my world go by. The city lights, the hustle and bustle on the streets, there's never a dull moment here. I sigh and Jason turns to me.
“Hey, I know spending the summer with me isn't ideal, but your mom really needs to know your safe while she's working.” That's hardly it at all. If she wanted to make sure I was safe, I would have a curfew, or she wouldn't care when I sneak in the morning after a long night of partying. She would make me dress appropriately and not buy my birth control.
“You have no clue what your talking about.” My voice is snappier than I want it to be, but I don't regret it. I just keep the smug look on my face counting the days until I can finally come back to my city.
“Oh no, trust me I know a lot. I know that at 17 you feel like you know everything. Like your on top of the world. You don't think you need me or this whole summer vacation. You just want to be back I your city where you can go out with your friends and drink and party and have, fun.” He emphasizes on the word fun. He's kinda right now that I think of it, but I sure as hell won't admit. “So I got you this.” He throws a big yellow envelope in my lap. “In there is information on the band, the cities were going to, and the tour we hope to get on and a little surprise for you.” The cab stops and we're at the airport before I can open the envelope. We get our bags and are rushing to a plane before I know it. We make it with just enough time to board.
I take a seat on the plain kind of anxious on what the “surprise” is waiting for me. I open the envelope and start to read:
Vampire Weekend
I've never heard of them before. The tour schedule says were starting in LA where they will do three shows. There are other venues around California then they were trying to get signed as an opening act for a few different bigger bands. The list was long so I didn't bother reading on. The next page was a bio on Vampire Weekend. The were a band of four guys from Brooklyn, something I can respect. They have electric pop music and really haven't hit it big yet. They've been together for about four years and are expected for big things. The last thing is a smaller white envelope with my name on it. I turn to Jason.
“What is this?” He motions for me to open it up. I open it and see a card, not just a card, and ID. One with my face and my picture and all my information, but says I'm 21. I turn to Jason smiling.
“Okay, okay. I was 17 once and I know you wanted to have fun this summer, so I'm going to let you.”
“Wow! Thank you so-”
“BUT there are rules.” Of course there are.
“Now you don't think I just got you this so you could drink! What kind of cousin would I be if I did that? The main reason I got it for you is so you could go to some of the clubs the guys will be preforming at, that's also what we'll tell your mother if she finds out.” I can't help, but laugh. That does make sense I guess. “Okay so rule number one, your not to go home with random guys. Your better than that and I don't want you sleeping with people your not suppose to. Rule two: No relationships with any of the guys in the band. The youngest is 25, they're way too old for you, don't even try. Rule three: Just please be smart, don't get to drunk, don't put yourself in bad situations, please this is a big responsibility I'm giving you, don't make me regret it.” I nod taking all this in.
“I won't disappoint, I promise.” I promise I'll try at least.
“Oh and one last thing, the most important rule of all: Don't let anyone know how old you really are.” I can do that, I'm almost positive. Maybe this summer won't be as much of a bust as I thought it would be....
