Congressman Fred Upton (R-St. Joseph) discussed the U.S. economy, health care reform, and the future of Social Security at a forum in Kalamazoo Monday (August 15, 2011). Upton is one of twelve lawmakers selected to serve on a special Congressional committee. That committee will try to determine a compromise on long-term spending to help reduce the federal deficit.The crowd of 200 people also demanded he talk about what he's doing to create jobs and improve the economy. Several interrupted and shouted at Upton. Those doing the interrupting asked him about the economy.
@Wytchfinde You mean they aren't? A question was posed about reducing the cost of medicare and people in the audience start yelling "where are the jobs?" When he starts speaking about a factory in Indiana... people immediately jump to conclusions. Again idiots. I'm not sayin this guy is great, but his constituents aren't much either.

@ramtorres85
What is really insulting is that Upton has any clout at all---you're insinuating that they are fools for diverting the subject. Politicians should be held accountable or get the fuck out of office.

@Wytchfinde No. I'm insulting his constituents. :/

ITS NOT THE GOVERNMENTS RESPONSIBILITY TO "CREATE" JOBS. THE PRIVATE SECTOR (PEOPLE) CREATE JOBS. The more government gets involved the less jobs we will have. If these criminals would actually cut spending, lowered the corporate tax rate, lowered income taxes, stopped over-regulating, we would have jobs. The further we go into debt, the less jobs we will have. More government involvement is not the answer. They are not businessman. They are the most inefficient corrupt scum on earth.

"Where are the jobs?" Ignorant people. He's talking about healthcare. His constituents are so ignorant and don't even allow him to finish a thought or a sentence.

Carbon Motors is in Connersville, Indianapolis is where the CEO lives. This pipe dream has been floating around for a long time, the old empty factory is there to put in place an assembly line. The super cop car this factory is supposed to be produced isn't needed & its not price competitive, unless the Fed subsidizes local government to purchase the car. This is not a consumer item, will need govt subsidy, that's Upton's idea of job creation?
