Fiddle tune in the key of D played by Rex McGee, two part version. Popular in and around Stokes and Surry County, I guess it was on the radio in the 30's and 40's and picked up by my PapaGee and his musician friends around then.

  • Isn't there a second part to rag-time annie?

  • I play two parts. There is a third part popular in Texas and I recorded that part as on "Trip to the Moon", a recording with Footloose, A North Carolina based dance band.

  • Awesome! Thanks for going back over it slow. I'll never win a contest, but if I could just kinda play like this. :D Great vid!! <3 <3

  • Thanks for playing at various speeds. You are helping me learn the tune on my concertina.

  • Do you do any instructional vids for these...you have a great sounds and spice to the tunes

  • I know what AccordionTony is looking for in that tune...Go to sdmemorylane's channel and that version of Ragtime Annie does the part, which could be the third part you are referring to. By the way, great job !

  • Brilliant!! I might just be inspired to haul out the old fiddle and have another go at it, having convinced myself years ago that proper fiddling was all done with smoke and mirrors and, besides, whenever the dog sees mine, she hides under the bed.

    Seriously, VERY helpful; thanks.

  • No doubt about it you are good.

  • this is such a great way to teach/learn new fiddle songs. my old teacher dan lapp used to do it like this. i'm going to get my fiddle and try this one out. thanks!

  • Merci infiniment de nous faire-part de votre Savoir et Habileté à manier le violon pour notre plus grand plaisir. Dans ma pratique du violon, Juste de voir la position de vos doigt sur le manche du violon nous aident. Merci beaucoup God blessed you M. McGee

  • Thanks a ton for showing how.

You make it seem so easy with your playing that the faintest of hearts will take heart.

    God bless you.

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you for slowing it down. I'm a beginning fiddle player and you just made my day.
