@TSGdancer - Iron sharpens iron. Keep searching the scriptures. There's plenty of sheep food in there for the whole flock of God. :) May God bless your studies and your journey.

@TSGdancer - I agree that you have to consider the whole bible - so no dispute there :) I think you will find that people believe because they ARE adopted, they do not believe to BECOME adopted. "And BECAUSE YE ARE SONS God hath sent forth the spirit of His son into your hearts crying Abba, Father." (Gal 4:6). That verse teaches that it is the fact that you already ARE a son that God regenerated you and gave you the faith to believe. That's a DEEP truth - if you enter into it. Blessings.

@theearstohear nice talking to you though..you definately put my faith to test and sharpened it. God bless

@theearstohear no my argument isnt with the bible. you cant take things out of context. acknowledgin the full story of the bible is necesary in interpresting every part b/c they are not independant of each other. God has the power to save anyone who puts their trust in him. the elect are those who are saved. u are adopted into God's family when you are saved. john 3:16 (so that WHOEVER believe in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life[Jesus=the way, truth and life]

@TSGdancer - The pretemporal election of people unto salvation is PRECISELY what is taught in Ephesians 1:4. "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love." The choice in view here is pretemporal (before the foundation of the world), it is "in Christ", and is prior to either conversion or church membership since it is before the dawn of time. Your argument is not with me, it is with the bible.

@theearstohear Paul refers to the elect as those who have already benefited from their election, but God views their condition prior to all that His activity will produce. The objects of election are unbelievers, who will become believers on account of their election. Eph2:3 is referring to all who hav not been saved including the saved when they were still of the world. in reference to rom 9:8 u can check this out if u want

@theearstohear in response to Eph 1:4 which i found very interesting and looked into:A Christian is only elect by virtue of Christ’s election, not on account of a pretemporal choice by God out of the mass of fallen humanity. It is at the point of conversion, i.e., a believer’s incorporation into the church, that election could be said to apply to any individual...
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - john 3:16

@folabad Amen! Bible never teach Trinity or 3 persons in 1 Godhead, instead, it said that the Godhead dwells in Jesus Col. 2:8-10, God manifested Himself into flesh 1 Tim. 3:16. That's the perfect salvation, God is NOT 3 persons. He is numerically one who spawned His spirit in flesh (Son) to be a perfect sacrifice for us. YHWH/Father is Jesus in flesh! Isaiah 9:6
