  • Cornette's attitute towards WWE is similar to mine. I haven't watched a single WWE show or match since 2005, and TNA since 2008.

Sports Entertainment, at most, should be the spice or sauce, not the main course, of pro wrestling. The core of wrestling is simply the wrestling.

Vince McMahon, Hogan, Russo, Bischoff, Dixie Carter, Triple H. These people don't CARE about pro wrestling. They are in it only for their egos and their bank accounts.

No wonder Cornette is bitter and angry. He should be.

  • That Hogan vs. Dusty match would have saved the Invasion angle for sure.

  • The funny thing is he did end up getting rid of the whole roster. Triple H got his wish for WWE to be all about him. lol

  • @CMY187

Oh I am not going to defend him. He annoyed me a lot in the past 2 by basically deciding that him being the focus of raw was best for business, preventing other guys from being pushed and only giving a push to his pals like the talentless Batista etc. I just think he did care about wrestling although he wanted to be the focus of it. Someone like Bischoff does not give a crap about wrestling and admits he is a businessman. If not in wrestling he would make money via alternative methods.

  • @Wojzek It's not just the $ for HHH. Like Hogan, the guy has an ego roughly twice the size of the world. I at least credit him for his in-ring work, especially in 2000, but the guy is such a fucking egomaniac. He pretended to push Benjamin, only to bury him later. Whether winning or losing, he has for a VERY LONG TIME always been in the spotlight. He's headlined Wrestlemania so many times. I got sick of him in 2004. He pushes guys who kiss his ass and ignores those who don't. I fucking hate HHH.

I also think there is a reversal of roles. I agree in the attitude era there were very few good matches although the storylines were great, if sometimes slightly obscene. Since then we have had some great wrestlers go through and put on fantastic matches although to say the storylines are poor would be an understatement. Now it almost seems like older fans are being shunned. It is just 10 year old being catered to storyline wise. It's a shame.

  • @CMY187

I agree with the names on here except for Triple H. I know he has played backstage politics but I think he does care about wrestling. He cares about it much more than say, The Rock, who people do not seem to have a problem with. He and The Rock were told some years ago that they could get in to movies. The Rock did and moved away from wrestling while Triple H was not interested, he wanted to wrestle. If he only cared about money he have retired ages ago and earned money backstage.

  • @CMY187 Thanks for the info about AJPW. I will be sure to check it out.

I just find it funny since the Attitude Era, in WWF/WWE was actually good for it's entertainment element - the wrestling itself was pretty weak, most of the time (or simply overlooked).

Personally, if you "can't handle bullshit" I suggest you go search on the internet wrestling community and just watch some of the great matches from recent years.

You CAN'T go wrong with Taker vs HBK in 2009, 2010 and Taker vs HHH in 2011.

  • @drago939393 I know I probably missed some great matches in WWE (I heard HBK vs Angle was epic), but after all the bullshit the company has done, I just couldn't take it anymore. I don't mind not watching WWE or TNA, I'm having a great time watching ROH, NOAH, and the epic 90s in AJPW with the 5-Star Match gods Misawa, Kawada and Kobashi. I consider AJPW in the 90s to be the true Golden Age of Professional Wrestling. You ever heard of Jumbo Tsuruta? HE might just be the greatest of all time.

  • @CMY187 I don't to say anything against you and your opinion; But you sure as hell missed out on some of the best technical matches.

  • @MrSherlockHolmez2 That main event didn't draw shit. Taker vs. Michaels did.

  • @Rawpload Whether losing or winning, Triple H has, for a very, very long time, always kept himself in the main event spotlight. I believe that the WM 20 main event should have been HBK, Benoit and Y2J, but Jericho was instead thrown into mid-card hell, and Benoit not long afterwards.

I give HHH credit that he at least knows how to work in the ring, but don't be fooled by him. Remember when Shelton Benjamin got put over? He was buried shortly after. HHH is a political snake through and through.

  • @Rawpload Your a fuckin retard! Rock put over so many ppl and lost every WM during wresltin prime 98-01. Triple H lost on purpose bc he knows he got with steph to get ahead and he doesnt want to basically take over and have ppl sayin hes only winning bc of his relationship, to bad most ppl say he was political/kissed ass his way threw life. He was a mid card at best and didnt even get a title till late 99 when he was with steph and Rock already had it 3 times.

  • @Rawpload This is a damned good, true point. HHH would put his grandpa over. Compared to Goldberg, Ultimate Warrior and Austin, HHH is friggin' Ghandi.

  • "I didnt watch Wrestlemaina, I was washin my hair" THE GREATEST LINE IN SHOOT INTERVIEW HISTORY.

  • Wouldn't be surprised if he beat the whole fucking roster

    So true

  • @Rawpload Lol i think hes poking fun at the fact that you have multiple wrestlers winning championships 10 + times...shit is getting ridiculous now.

  • @MrSherlockHolmez2 cornette wrote most of the stories that drew money. he is an amazing booker and can make a person as plain as vanilla into a legend.

  • @Vetal83 I said Top star/main eventer.

  • @Rawpload Well Big Show is also losing everytime in one one competition

  • Triple H has the worst WM Loss record for a top star/Main eventer in WWE. What the fuck is this moron smoking?

Tell me one top star in WWE who would agree to tap out consecutive Wm & lose 3 times in a row?

Would the rock agree to tap out to cena's stf this Wm? I highly doubt it.

  • Cornette is awesome.

  • I wouldn't be surprised had he beat the whole fucking roster lol

  • lmao! i was washing my hair

  • i thought he did beat the whole fucking roster????????

  • Triple H is company boy !!! Hunter Hearst McMahon...lol

  • @clayp72 lol Nickelback is a pussy-ass band.
