Best birthday present ever - from scythemantis :) I'd never actually seen an American roach up-close before.... despite all the filthy places I've lived in throughout my life. Of all the exotic roaches I own, these are some of my favorites. Classic roach beauty... long, slender legs... reddish and yellowish tones... I just love them.

Rude comments will be deleted & you may be blocked. I don't care if your sense of humor involves commenting about how much you hate roaches or how many you've killed... such comments are pointless here. :)

  • How did you catch those?

  • @RussX5Z They hang out under causeways here a lot at night, I use plastic containers. They're speedy but it's not usually too hard when they're on a wall.

  • Dam you have balls for holding that rock with those roaches. I would shit my pants.

  • @myfood123 People say that all the time, I don't understand it personally as they are completely harmless :) They're also perfectly clean and free of any disease, filth etc :)

  • Yay Roaches <3

    I'm just SOOO curious...but..

have you ever seen the movie Joe's Apartment?

  • Oh of course. :) Love the funky towel song~

  • I would love to culture these cockroaches in the future!! What i would do is collect the eggs first, and when the eggs hatches, i will feed them with clean foods like dog foods, veggies, fruits, cricket foods, ets.. and feed them to my Tarantulas :D Cultured American Cockroaches are even safer to feed to your Tarantulas than catching the dirty ones that are caught outside eating dirty stuff. The only problem is figuring out a slippery tank since, these guys are good climbers and flyers!!

  • @PenanggalanMonster Wow you are brave! Cause they scare the shit out of me! Ha ha ha!! I live in Hawaii and there are a trillion of those here. lol.

  • These roaches must be used to you handling them, because they seem quite relaxed and docile. :) Wild cockroaches will usually take off at the slightest vibration. That's actually what scares me most about them--they always seem to dart out of nowhere. I'm slowly trying to desensitize myself to them, but I have to admit that I still get the heebie-jeebies whenever I come into contact with one. X)

  • man! do u have bals. i would never dare to do that

  • awww they're cute ^_^

  • As a New Yorker, I've seen my fair share of these but I must say that your little guys here are beautiful in coloring and very curious on the brink of cute! Especially at 0:43! We never let them get this big but then again, given their situation people don't want to :/ Shame in a animal loving sense of things~
