During these bad Dubya Bush days, participants nostalgically dressed in period costumes attempt to convince themselves that they have entered those poverty-stricken times so well described in Dickens's soulful stories.
These seekers for the frozen past stroll Riverside's downtown area, chat about the bad times then and now, mingle with each other and with residents of Riverside California.
Characters include a bicycle rider, whores & pimps, fictive dramatic actors, cowboy w/cowgirl, US Union soldiers, US Confederate Soldiers, British soldiers, cloth weavers, Scottish Bagpiper, sharecroppers, Royal Beefeater, bandits, msrchants, officers, royalty along with Queen Victoria and her court, etc.
