Warriors Game 2 - 33 Stack Defense

Our 2nd game of the season we wanted to push the kids a little outside their comfort zone. So we scheduled a local Jr High program. Keep in mind our team is made up of 11-12 yr olds with about 6 kids who have turned 13 in the past few months. We have 4 eighth graders and 4 sixth graders and the other 14 are seventh graders. This weeks opponent is a 7th and 8th grade program with most of their starters being 8th graders.
Little did we know that our boys would rise to the occasion so well. The final score was 46-6 because we did end up allowing them into the end-zone with about 1 minute remaining in the game. But their best drive of the game ended at the 6 inch line early in the 2nd quarter and they wouldn't threaten again until the game was nearly over and most of the defense was 2nd and 3rd string players.
Pay no mind to my cheering parents, but I left the volume up so you can hear some of the hits as we were absolutely flying to the football all day long. And just so everyone knows that we teach the boys better, the high flying 'flipper' who dove head over heels into the end-zone was pulled out for the remainder of the game.
It also bears pointing out that it was VERY VERY HOT even for a Louisiana Midday Kickoff ... well over 100 degrees on the 'heat index' and the officials took at least a half dozen 'heat breaks' for the boys to get water and cool off. We laughed when the host team said they didn't have any home jerseys yet so would we please wear our black jerseys instead of our whites. Then we take the field in those all black unis and realized it was freakin HOT !!!
