Hi, this is Bob from Patagonia-Chile, what´s your opinion on the battery lasting on this particular HT ?, is there any thing you´d change or dislike on this model ? I wanna get one of those too. regards.... Bob

The VX8R is one of the best rigs I've ever owned! Love playing with the APRS.

The video was great! thanks. I suggest changing the title from messanging to messaging (no "n"), might make it easier or people looking or those search words.

I have a question on the bluetooth aspect of this radio. Is it compatible with other bluetooth headsets or just with the ones yeasu makes?
Hi! Nice video. I got the same radio because of your videos! Got a question, how do I know what frequency/repeater to use for APRS? Thanks!

@sponklang77
the aprs network functions on 144.390, Its that freq for all across the USA. I think it might be different for other countries/areas.

Hello. Thanks for your video. I just got my technician license and want to get my first radio. I was going to get a FT-60R, but it turns out that there is alot of 220 activity in my area (near Baltimore), so.... I would like to get something that can handle it. The VX-8DR was going to be my next radio after I got comfortable with the FT-60R, but I'm thinking I may as well dive right in. Do you recommend doing this? Is there a steep learning curve? 73, KB3VJN

@BGAndrea
there is a learning curve with everything.. is it hard to operate this radio? Nope. Does it take some time to read the manual and set things up? Yes.
I love the radio and now that I use it regularly I dont need to reference the manual for the things i do now so id say once you get it down.. its fairly easy to use.
btw congratulations on the Tech license!

What exactly is the dash and then the number for after the call sign? because i am reading the arrl technician book and i can not find it. is it in the general book?
i am trying to get a ham radio license up to al least up to general :)

@chelloplayer128 The dash and number are just used as an indentifyer. Example -7 is portal. -9 is mobile and there are a few more, those are the only two i use tho.
