This is the first test of the swerve drive built by FIRST Robotics Team Cyber Blue 234. The swerve pods were designed by Team 221 LLC and built by students on Team 234. The design of the pods is based on the experience of WildStang, FRC Team 111.

  • how long did it take you to program the swerve wheels?

  • @poli45 We started working on the basic design in the fall of 2009 and worked for about 3 months. When the 2010 game was announced, we decided to use the swerve, built a new chassis and modules, and then began programming again. It is a long process. We aren't really done yet. Are you using C++ or Labview? We used C++ and might be able to give some guideance.

  • @cyberblue234 C++ but we might use Labview I will need to ask one of the programmers.

  • @shadoryder swerve drive can usually turn, i think. this looks like it might actually be crab drive, though, which couples the rotation of all 4 wheels. it should be able to resort to tank drive in order to turn, but it might have poor performance since there are only 4 wheels. great job guys!!

  • does it turn?

  • lame

  • Great work guys!!!
