A complex sequence of events occurs in the brain during a migraine, and the activation of these events occurs in the brain stem. Find out how a release of neurotransmitters leads to throbbing pain, nausea and sensitivity to light and noise with help from a board-certified neurologist in this free video on migraine headaches.

  • What happens to women body and brain?

What happens with the hormones during the menstruation? Is it due to progesterone or strogens? There is no information about perimenstrual migraines. Could you talk about it? Thank you

  • all i wanted was to find an animated version of internal brain during a headache (NOT necessarily migraine), and THIS is what YouTube kicks back at me? Thanks, but no thanks.

  • Its almost like a waking siezure. I been getting stremers of flashing lights and i want to punch people.,

  • He has a good speaking voice and s very pleasant to listen to.

  • That's nice and vague...

There's a very complex sequence of events and then something happens that causes this :(

  • @matthias2986 That is a lot of Migraines, Are u working out a lot, I always get them

3 or 4 days after weight training. It could be u are not eating enough carbohydrates.

I eat a bole of porridge every morning and last thing at night and i have not had one

since i started the new diet.

  • @PogoFogo i get the same thing, the flashy squiggly lines that starts out very small and spreads out into a curved C shape sometimes a spiral, strange feeling like i got gingerale rolling around in my brain, that all lasts for an hour or so then fades away. followed by horrid head ache... i have had prob 30 in the past few months, but i had gone maybe 4-5 months without any at all...

  • In people tha get hemiplegeic migrianes, isn't there a defect in one of three proteins that deal with transmissions between nerve cells?

  • I had 10 migraines in the last 8 weeks some times i can go 2 years and not get one. it is like a row of flashing X#X#xxixxi+

in front of one eye and when that goes one is left with a sore head and pins and needles in the left hand.
