Although I don't know "The Great Divorce", there is something else I read by C.S. Lewis that I really enjoyed.
I cannot remember what Lewis I enjoyed, but it doesn't matter; I've exhausted my current reading list of inspirational works.
Time to read something new, I think. Thank you, John.

I liked your reading of this material. I'm not sure if this would be down your alley, but I'd like to request that you read an excerpt from "The Great Divorce", by C.S. Lewis. Even though it has Christian underpinnings, the story is surreal and reminds me very much of your "train" poem reading.

Thanks for telling me that, kimi. It means so much, Mate! Haha! x

You have made my heart happy...................
this has been added to my favorites Mate!
luv you...... kimi
One more writer I would love to hear you read from (the last for today, I promise!) is Leo Tolstoy. Few writers capture the plight of man better than Tolstoy. I can only imagine how enjoyable they would be coming from you. No matter what material you decide on, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. TIA

Keep recommending, John. Anytime!
I have never tackled Tolstoy. I have heard of "War and Peace" but I seem to be living that novel in my daily life at present. :)
Perhaps he may be the best writer to take on a long holiday with me. Just to remind myself of what I'm missing!
John, all your comments today have been really appreciated. I'll get reading. Thank you.

You're most welcome. I hope one of my recommendations resonates in you, because your reading style could make it resonate to a great many others.

Also, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the poems of Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, but I got a small book of his titled "The Prodigal" which I absolutely love. It's is one long narrative poem. His writing evokes such vivid imagery in one's mind. He is a master of metaphor.

Sounds just my sort of thing, John. I have heard of Walcott, but nothing more than that.
Thanks for pointing me in his direction. :)
