@dontblockmedk Pleae watch your tone. I read much about science and technology and the consensus on geothermal energy is that it is a viable alternative to fossil fuels in some places, but not a panacea. The largest geothermal project I am aware of is being developed in Iceland and is seen as an expensive gamble. While it might work to meet some of the countries energy needs, it is not a sure thing by any means.

The first video does not reference any scientific studies, it just makes claims.

@p We could have geothermal electricity plants all over the world capable of producing ALL the electricity the world needs for 1000s years.

And we now have battery technology that allows us to produce electric cars that are clean, long distance, fast, etc.

But cars STILL use 100 year old technology, and we STILL use oil extensively, WHY. Because 'free market' REQUIRES cyclical consumption and false scarcity to maximize profit and control.

Abundance of what, energy? Markets and subsidies have give us plenty - when is the last time you went w/o power.

Clean water has to be treated and pumped and while we pay, it is not expensive. Desalinization is an expensive alternative that would cost much more than the current system.

We use oil and gas for our cars because they give us the most bang for our buck. Alternatives are unreliable, more expensive, and lacking economies of scale.

@p THE point is using resources and technology efficiently can produce abundance (profit property systems will NEVER do this).

Why do we pay for clean water, it isn't scarce? Desalination plants that would reduce cost to zero, but there isn't profit in that.

Why do we use oil and gas cars? Full implementing solar, wind, wave, geothermal would make cost of electricity go to zero, so no profit.

Scarcity=profit=slavery, sharing+abundance=freedom.
