  • ok so let me get this straight so we know ps3 runs on a cell processor sony put all this money into a graphics chip but stick with the same controller since the n64 era this is bullshit fuck u sony call me when u make a new controller like wii u or better yet one of your own

  • @sourav93 The SPEs are not cores, they are SIMD units. They have no cache, no direct access to system RAM, and a much more limited instruction set compared to a core like the PPE. Also, being specialized processors, they achieve a relatively high floating-point performance compared to a core, but in exchange are much slower on other aspects, like integer and boolean operations.

  • @waddlerobloxxxx OMG this is the 3rd or 4th guy this month I saw who said this. The Cell BE is a muti-core processor, with one 64-bit PowerPC processing core and 8 (not 7) Synergistic processing cores (SPEs). The SPEs are the cores. Its on the Sony Cell BE website and developer documentations, and on the the IBM Cell BE description page.

  • @waddlerobloxxxx ´

that's why the ps3 exclusives are amazing in comparison to non exclusives

  • WRONG the cell has 1 core and 7 SPEs

the SPEs are small units that do math calcs given by the core

If used right, they OWN the 360s xenon

But they 70% not used at all(in games)

  • lol the guy who made this video is an xbox fanboy look at the picture beside his name

  • its like one of those adverts you see in the cinema

  • yeah yeah the cell is good (not quite as much as the new i7's) but the problem is that the ps3's RAM not only cant support it, but the ram is tied to both the cpu and gpu, which makes it far less flexible. i wish sony had thought out the architecture before making it, because i hate dealing with system crashes.

  • you are right toyflamethrower. every commercial would be HOT if they were like that.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, This is how all commercials should be.
