This is the planarian Dugesia observed through a dissecting microscope. The small granules are nutrients added to the medium to stimulate the worm's sensory abilities. Notice the ondulating movement, the ocelli (eye spots) and auricles (ear flaps)

if you cut one of those it two, the severed body will grow back with a disfigured head, while the remaining part with the head will grow a new tail.
