  • Thank you so very much for your bravery and honesty. I know you are aware of how much you are helping those of us who are lucky eniough to have found you. My question to you is regarding one of my greatest fears. Everything I read online is about how people say they have gained huge amounts of weight after their thyroidectomoy. I already weigh more than I want to so this totally freaks me out. Have you had any issues with this? It doesn't appear that way from your videos.

  • Funny you mention this because that was my biggest fear as well. After the surgeries and radiation, I only gained a couple of pounds. I guess all the exercising I do helps but everybody's different. Don't let it worry you too much. Focus on being healthy period. :) Good luck.

  • hi there i'm in germany too with thyroid cancer, diagnosed in 2006 and it seems i'm not responding to treatment. I already had 2 RAI's already. My husband is active duty airforce so they are sending me to wilford hall san antonio at lackland afb for follow up and treatment. what's your email?

  • I sent you my email address in a message. Good luck!

I went right home after the pill my dr says only stay away from people for about 12 hours..I have no kids so that was good for me..

after 24 hours I was able to continue my life the normal way..

I have been a big mess since I had to go off my meds. I would love it if you were able to check them out.

    My iodine wish me luck

  • Hey I'm going in for my SURGERY on this Friday the 29th to have a TOTAL thyroid removal and I know that the Iodine pill will be my next step. Do they have the same time frame here in the USA like in Germany?

  • Nice video; I had 4 radioactive Iodine treatments In France. We have special toilets for the nuclear waste. My thyroid has been completly removed. The cancer also in my neck is gone after 4 treatments. But I still have a tumor in my back. I am on the road to recovery God is real to me.

  • me too... now i've coudnt taste anything... hope it will come back

  • Thank you for posting your videos about your experience with thyroid cancer. I am having a left thyroid lobectomy in 12 days. I am 33. Two years ago, I was dx w/ Multiple Sclerosis. During an MRI, my neurologist discovered a nodule. I had a biopsy, and it showed follicular neoplasm, which I guess is cancerous cells. Oh, a few weeks prior to that, I found out I was pregnant. So, at 23wks into this pregnancy, I will have the surgery done. No RAI treatment until after I give birth.

  • Hello! Thank you for video. I am too is undergoing radioactive iodine therapy. Its my 6th day today. I understand you with the low iodine diet. It really sucks! I didn't have the appetite to eat during those days. Now, I am still isolated which is kinda boring and sad. But I have to endure this until the radioactivity is low. I like it when you say that you are just there if we need anyone to talk to with this issue. Your video made me feel good knowing that I am not alone dealing with this.

  • I just discovered that I am not alone!I hope you will never need to take iodium again but if somebody need to ask for thyrogen injection and forget all about diet and the other symptoms that high TSH causes or low i am not sure but i mean when you quit from your peal for awhile.
