On my third day in the Bagerhat disaster area caused by Cyclone Sidr, I teamed up with Nick Downie from Save the Children. We went to a remote region that could only be reached by boat. I brought some blankets (which I bought with my own money) to give away to the poorest of the poor. In addition, we also collected water samples from various areas to see if water filters could be attached to provide clean water for the locals.
This video is not recommended for young children.

Outro music (music during blanket distribution) is "Walk the Streets" by Jamison Young from the album "Shifting Sands of a Blue Car". Download it for free at:

partly this poverty is because the bangladeshi politicians are a bunch of selfish tools who stole from the government for their own gains and not to help these poor people.
I get chills watching your videos! I saw almost all of them.I think you are doing a great job. Its so scary how the people of my own country, where I was born, are living. It makes me feel angry and sick to the stomach thinking this is the people of my country. I hope it gets better and quick. I am so glad I moved to the usa when I was 9.
Sometimes it seems like the horrors in the news, although not fake exactly, they seem far away and disconnected. You show how real these things are, and how just donating a little thing like a blanket can make a person live a happier life. So thanks.

The looks on some of the Children's faces - as they received blankets bigger than they were!
Really great work Shawn - thank you for your incredible kindness
Sure, Bangladesh has a lot of places it can improve in terms of fighting corruption, but blaming the gov't for poverty is just a scapegoat.
