A friend of mine told me that ear candling "totally works" and recommended that I find videos on youtube. Well, I found this one and refused to watch other ones after I did a little research that mainly consisted of reading wikipedia. I must say I had my own doubts and theories before and this just fits with them. Ear candling without the ear, brilliant! I don't see how a test could be more accurate, keep up the good work.

hahahahahah at pullytheawesome what a tool

.. thats a pill bottle, not an ear.....

lol you spelled physical wrong.

true that.

You should probably do this experiment again without a flame on the other end, but the result will most likely be the same.

Thanks for this. I wouldn't have put a hole in the "ear" though, as a real ear has no "through" passage like that, as long as a person's ear drum is intact. There are so many people out there that want to believe in this, though, that I don't know what it would take to prove it to them that these candles are not removing wax. The good thing, I guess, is that while they are ear candling their way to good ear health, they can't be breeding. We already have all the stupid people we need.

but its not a candle its a tube and the fire is just sucking up the wax

Hmm i am not sure the method in which you present your work in can be classed as scientific. Surely if you think the 'wax' in the candle at the end (once it has been cut open) was present all the time you could simply cut an unused candle open and see if it has a waxy residue.
Also if you tried it and found no wax to come from your own ears maybe they were not that dirty to start with?
All i can say is it worked for me...
Ha ha. Got to love your repeated defense of your experiment. You repeatedly site a non peer reviewed source. Am I supposed to take Wally's Natural Products as a reputable source just because it's on the internet? Oh yeah, I forgot, if it's on the internet, it's true.

How much more reliable can you get than the candle manufacturer's Web site?????

If you`re gonna debunk the candles, you might want to have them upright rather than at the side. Nobody candles sitting upright. This probably matters.

From the Wally's Natural Products Web Site: "Unfortunately, it seems the majority of people who have heard of ear candling think or have been told that the procedure removes wax from the ear while the candle is burning. This is the placebo effect in action. There is no vacuum. There is no suction. . ."

Hmm. Let's see now. The candle should be standing up, not lying down. Last time I checked people didn't have holes going through their heads, not living ones anyway. Now, with a hole in the medicine bottle I wonder why you aren't getting suction (duh!). Finally, when I had the ear candling done (of which I was initially sceptical), what came out was yellow not brown. If what came out of your ear was brown, I'm not sure what was in your ear but you should see a doctor.
