I hear ya man. But I'd prefer a game show styled death penalty like Death Race or something. So at least the populace gets something out of a la gladiatorial combat of old :)

i see all the points you made , and agree. one thing though to get the death zone you got to have done some very bad stuff eather proven or adnitted to. also if they excape the zone i think the army guys/gals, should be allowed to get some tracking trainning in because getting away just means you get another zone to try.. just this one would be alittle larger.

@Renzero89 I have been giving this a bit more thought and my initial thoughts were that this duty could only be given to either the SAS or SBS (maybe the Paras or Royal Marines) over here in the UK. But I forgot about a spectacular unit and wouldn't fancy anybodies chances against them, the Gurkhas.
Former Chief of staff of the Indian Army, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw once famously said about Gurkhas:
“If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or is a Gurkha."
