Two people have been arrested in clashes between Israeli police and ultra-Orthodox jews in the town of Beit Shemesh.

Religious tensions have been rising recently over the community's imposition of gender segregation in public life.

And one Israeli schoolgirl has found herself at the centre of the increasingly bitter argument.
