When we first heard that Stargate Worlds had hired a convoy of Humvees within which to conduct their on-site interviews at Leipzig, our first reaction was to think that floor space on the event grounds might have been exponentially cheaper. It turns out that Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment (CME) / Firesky does indeed have a booth at Nintendo's old digs in the downtown train station, and - environmentalists and fuel conservationists can relax - these Hummers run on natural gas.

But it wasn't just for show, the Stargate Worlds team is getting very serious about beta. Studio Lead Dan Elggren offered his insight into the progress the team is making with the game and even drops a concrete hint as to when CME will start inviting players to closed beta. Hint: it's sooner than you think, so if you're intrigued by Stargate Worlds, first watch the 7-minute video and then sign up for beta at www.stargateworlds.com if you haven't done so already!

  • the game is gonna come out on december 20th 2012 at 23:30

that gives you a entire 30 seconds to install the game, play to level 50 and get bored of it and quit

  • Dan Elggren Left CME/Firsky to work for Gazillion.

  • It takes a good amount of time to make a game. Think of it this way: The longer it takes to make the game the more bugs they can iron out and the better the game will be for it.

  • Nah, they're still working on it. I have faith in CME to get this game out eventually.

In fact, myself and my friend would LOVE to work on this game sometime. I doubt it'll be out in the next two or so years, but it's STILL going to be worth it!

  • CME is bankrupt. they have no 3D engine programmers (pesky people wanting paychecks). the pregame guild structure was MLM marketing. they are being sued by Kinetik I.T. Inc. for unpaid bills, MgM wants to pull the license for non performance. This game will never see the light of day under CME/Firesky development.

  • we gotta wait a few years??? O_o

  • its easy to get that file

  • long development means good game, the longer the better. well, not to long lol.

  • 1 word for you: WoW. This game was in development for a long time too, wiki it ;)

  • shouldn't the community take on a form more similar to myspace/facebook? mebbe that would actually apple to people who play games and knowvery little about the oher stuff?
