Actually the effects on vitamins are quite small, significantly less degradation than cooking and there is no reduction in minerals.

@lastpoet1 Radiation is not a poison, it i not a substance. it i an energy form, just like light or radio waves. exposing food to radiation does not leave it radioactive.

I have no idea what you're even saying about Canada versus the US on the issue.  What association are you talking about? You're not dumbed down to hell? You could have fooled me. You can't even seem to use proper grammar.

Irradiation is not limited to the US. Canada has used food irradiation since the 1950's.

You haven't a clue what you're talking about. There's no "toxins" added in the process. I actually understand this struff. While there may be some minor breakdown of proteins, it's actually less than cooking. The ionization levels are trivial. And no, it has no effect on minerals.
