Sure, Microsoft recommends using 512MB of memory with Windows Vista but in this configuration the performance of your PC may be less than ideal.

Here's a side-by-side visual comparison between 2 new, Everex laptops: One with 512MB (stock) and 1 with 1GB of memory (512MB + 512MB).

Computers: Everex StepNote VA4300M
- Windows Vista® Home Basic
- Intel® Celeron® M Processor 430
- 80 GB Hard Disk Drive
- DVD+/-RW Optical Drive
- 512MB memory vs. 1GB memory

Test
1.) Boot-up
2.) Load/Run slideshow
3.) Display the Windows welcome screen

  • @MegaYogcast me too ;)

  • 768mb ram. ok for normal use

  • i got 8gb ram :p

  • What's the song name?

  • i have 768mb and Windows vista home basic. Works pretty

  • @MwFreezd Wrong. Windows 32-bit versions have this limit.64-bit versions of Windows remove the limit.

I'm not telling that the other OS's do not support greater than 64 GB RAM.

Every 64-bit OS ( Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit still have a limit up to 16 GB RAM, the ultimate version should support every single GB of RAM ) support all the RAM that you install on your system.

  • o dobro de ram resulta em dobro de tempo

  • pc with more ram usualy boots up slower, but is better at preformance

  • @EpicVonepicness go choke on a lemon

  • @J4M3SPR

I think you need to learn your left and right, bro.
