With almost 20 years inside the health insurance industry, Wendell Potter saw for-profit insurers hijack our health care system and put profits before patients. Now, he speaks with Bill Moyers about how those companies are standing in the way of health care reform.

Actually, I am because then I would have been in control of my own money. You may want the government to take care of you like a sugar daddy, but I want to take of myself.

I am sure you are disappointed that Bush's idea of turning Social Security over to Wall Street investments didn't go through. It would be very interesting to see how much you would have lost in the economic Republican created crisis.

Health Care debate = Same-sex marriage debate. Public option = same-sex civil marriage option. Those against the Public option who have private health insurance beleive they will be negatively effected (even though they wont) and those with heterosexual marriages think that allowing GLBT to have marriage will effect their marriage (even though it wont). You see the same type of people against the public option as you have against same-sex marriage. it's not an outlandish comparison.

If Republicans don't like the idea of federal healthcare they should not use it themselves. They are hypocrites and elitists.
Politicians should have to work on a low wage, that way, we would get the right kind of people. To say they earn their keep is a joke; they do not serve the American people they serve whoever gives them the biggest donations.

It's amazing that you nay-sayers to a public option are vehemently against people getting medical care. It won't affect your current plan!!!! Why do you want to deny health care to others??? Wake up!

They have jobs just like the rest of us. Calling what anyone earns as a "handout" is insulting and ignorant. The problem is that many people are holding out their hands instead earning a living and paying their way.

EARN what?

Democrats call valid points of dispute "talking points" because they have no logical counter argument. The government will not fix healthcare because they are the cause of the crisis. It is not the insurance companies fault.
Think of it this way. The government reject a person's application for Social Security Disability THREE times without even reading it. You then have to hire a lawyer who specialized in disability claims. Then, you might get approved. Is that what you want?

No, members of Congress get the same healthcare as any federal employee. It is not a handout. They earn it.

These Republicans are getting their healthcare - a handout- courtesy of US taxpayers?
