  • The Variax is plugged into a Boss Loop Station RC20 and a Boss ME-50. It then goes through a Yamaha Mixer to a Passport 150 PA. The 1st patch is acoustic, 2nd is reverse delay to sound like strings, 3rd acoustic, 4th octave +1 to give high pitch, 5th octave -1 to give bass effect, 6th processed overdriven guitar. The timing track is played first to give the timing for the whole piece, this is done with a delay as shown. Hope this helps

  • I never knew my Dad's camcorder was that good.

  • I saw him play a few times over the years and I saw him play at Thornbury near Bristol a few years ago and he was playing one of his other pieces that he plays like this using loop effects and different sounds and I spoke to him after the g...ig and suggested that he use a Line 6 variax guitar to get the different sounds that he needed and he said that he owned one but had never thought of using it for this purpose and I just found this on youtube, looks like he took up my suggestion

  • Many thanks for sharing!

It's so exciting to see the magic! :)

  • Mr Gordon Giltrap, a 13 year old has found tab for this :-)))

  • It looks really simple when you play it Gordon - then I tried to play it myself - lol FAIL!!!!

I still remember a geat gig you did at the Half Moon Putney - one of the best nights I ever had!!

  • A magic YouTube moment. Watch it once and put your guitar on eBay,or watch it twice and be inspired.

  • superb i saw him in the 80s with rick sanders of fairport convention, they did a number that mimiced the acustics of the taj mahal it was amazing.

  • Masterful, I've loved Gordon's work from the time I first heard him, too many years ago.
