Finally had a breakthrough and started working on twirling around the pole, trying to improve the fluidity of the movement. I did get a bit dizzy in one place - and found my arms too weak for a move I tried to do later on (I'd been poling a lot before making this video) - but still think it was a pretty decent start.

P.S. That place where it looks like I'm just standing there is actually me doing hip vibrations - the webcam just couldn't pick it up very well. Next time I'll have to wear a belly dance scarf so it's more obvious.

  • Thanks, everyone! I did get dizzy, for sure - but I was pleased to see that I instinctively found the pole with my hip when that happened, so that was good. I'm hoping my dancing will get a lot more enjoyable to watch - and do - in the coming year. Hope so, at least! :)

  • Nicely done...I would get dizzy also. I actually had to take some less drowsy dramamine before one of my spinning videos. =)

  • Thank you for posting this! I definitely need to work on my fluidity and transitions but most of the time I only think to work on the 'big tricks' and forget about improving transitions. What a great reminder of how important graceful basics are! :)
