This was done for one of my uni projects: "Motion Study", regarding the individual affect of seat post height on cycling efficiency. This is the video of the "corrected" height, used in comparison to a deliberately shortened height (which I may upload at a later date). I did not have a cycle trainer so yes, he was riding backwards.

I would not call this a scientific study, but I found it quite interesting. Take from it what you will, I am not claiming this is how your seat height should be determined.

Video is a bit jumpy and the looping isn't the smoothest, but I really do not care so much about that. I do regret not having put marker points onto the rider's joints to ease locating fixed points, but I did end up rushing this job. Again, this was a personal video but thought that some other people might like to see it.
