Here's a favorite "B" side from the late, great Ricky Nelson - on original pressing Imperial Records 45 RPM and played on my 1950s era RCA Victor record player! The song is "Yes Sir, That's My Baby," which was backed with the ballad, "I'm Not Afraid." This rocker features a sax solo by Plas Johnson - enjoy!

  • There's something magical about vinyl! I have a cover song of Rick Nelson's "Almost Saturday Night" by the band Diesel, which made Sausalito Summernight famous ;-]

    Thanks for sharing this classic!

  • Thanks for putting this 45 on the net. Yes, Sir, That's My Baby was sung by Ricky Nelson on Ozzie and Harriet when I was pre-teen, I think, and I'll never forget what a great impression that single piece had on me at the time. I thought it was the most soulful song with Jazz and Bop and Rock all in it. Ricky was a marvelous singer, though he always appeared subdued, his music wasn't. The sax solo in it was terrific to hear over the years on the rare event it be played.

    Peace. Al, the nvp

  • Plas Johnson had a hit record in 1962. It was called "Sax Fifth Avenue" and he recorded it under the name Johnny Beecher. One of my all-time favorite instrumentals. And I have the 45!!

  • A découvrir ou redécouvrir Rick Nelson et ses albums geniaux de 1958 à 1980.

Un pionnier du Rock en meme temps qu'Elvis.

Absolument à mettre dans sa CDteque avec Elvis.

  • I was always a fan of Rick Nelson. I own all his records and CD's. I eventually owned over 1000 records from 50's rock on forward. I got a kick out of this clip. "Yes Sir That's My Baby/I'm Not Afraid" was the first record I ever owned. Thanks for the memory.
